The Snake Charmer

I recall watching snake charmers on TV as a kid mostly in cartoons thinking how cool it would be to have a snake dance to your music, so magnificent and so brave. Now I know that snakes cannot hear music and it was a cruel dance of fear and intimidation. That practice is mostly gone, repurposed in some cases to drive snakes out of villages. But the history, images and allure of a bygone era remains.     

This collection pays tribute to all the snakes that swayed so gracefully in their dangerous dance and to India a country I'm constantly fascinated with.
