The Little Eye Pendant
“I like you; your eyes are full of language."
―
On a blue Campitos Turquoise, with a few pyrite inclusions, I Scrimshawed this loving and wistful eye. This traditional etching technique is one I'm falling in love with, it combines my old love for sketching and my new love for making jewelry.
Bezel set on a 20g silver plate, the eye hangs from an 18"silver chain, oxidized and buffed to a soft glow this pendant is elegant, striking and certainly a one of a kind.
Measurements

Care instructions: The eye was executed with a scribe and permanent India ink, then rubbed gently with Renaissance museum wax to preserve the pigment. Like any Scrimshaw keep it away from water, soap, chemicals, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as it might cause the pigment to fade. If you need to wipe it gently with a soft cotton cloth. Do not scrub, a rough scrubbing can remove pigment from fine lines.
